Changes are coming

Rock the vote, ya'll. I am excited to see a McCain victory tonight. I have my own reasons to vote for him (which I have already done). Obama just doesn't fit my situation, my state's situation, or my own personal beliefs on what America should be and how it should be run. I respect what Obama has done, but I hope he does not win.

McCain will lead us in a new direction. He is the candidate that will change things for the better. A vote for Obama is a vote for change...and socialism in America. That is not what I want my children to live in. And don't kid yourselves, Obama believers, it is socialism.

Socialism isn't always a bad thing, big brother. There are benefits.

I respect your choices, though. But I am going to have to wish for the opposite.

You know, I agreed with what you are saying about getting rid of the electoral colleges... but then I thought about it. I think it would actually be a mistake. And here is why:
People vote for the wrong reasons. For example, this last election. Some people (and I've heard people say this, so I know it's sometimes the care) said they voted for McCain and Palin because "Palin is hot..." not because they agreed with policies or necessarily liked McCain. Other have said "Obama is black, and therefore I don't like him" or "I'm voting for Obama because McCain's old." These reasons aren't good reasons to vote and are superficial. The electoral college, however and hopefully, elect on the grounds of what the canidate stands for and their plans and policies.
But I guess they are biased as well.
I guess either way, we're just screwed lol

The electoral college votes exactly as its state votes. There is no bias, just unbalance. The entire country should have the say, not just a few states with a huge amount of electoral votes.

Heck, by the time mine and your votes got counted, the election was decided.

Here is an editorial that puts the electoral college in perspective.
